Recent, unprecedented cuts to federal arts funding are having a serious impact on cultural organizations nationwide—including in Broward County. Notifications of terminated grants from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH), and Institute for Museum and Library Services (IMLS) have affected many in our creative community.
“Advocacy is one of the most powerful forces that drives the resilience of the arts,” said Phil Dunlap, Director of the Broward Cultural Division. “It is therefore vital that we now double down on our collective efforts to make our voices heard.”
We stand with all who are impacted. Here’s what you can do:
✅ Take Action Immediately
If your organization received a grant cancellation, submit an appeal before the deadline. Doing so:
• Protects your legal standing
• Reinforces collective advocacy efforts
• Helps demonstrate the full impact of these cuts
Even if you’re unsure about the outcome—submit. Every appeal adds strength to the case for restoring support.
