Cultural Rendezvous Series with Katherine Fleming at Bailey Contemporary Arts Center
Join Katherine Fleming, director and founder of Bridge Initiative, the innovative nonprofit that combines art with conservation in this expert-led talk curated by Sophie Blachet of the Broward Cultural Division.
Kate Fleming founded Bridge Initiative after an expedition to Antarctica which forced her to confront the devastating impact of climate change; drawing on her background in art and fashion design, Fleming’s organization unites artists, scientists, and institutions to create public works of art to highlight and support environmental conservation in both local and global environments. She advises ReefLine, an underwater sculpture park and snorkel trail located off of the Miami Beach shoreline that doubles as a hybrid reef to spur coral reef growth.
The Cultural Rendezvous Series brings together artists, art leaders and professionals, and other creatives for networking, expert-led talks and discussion, and industry insight into the Broward arts world. Cultural Rendezvous takes place at a different arts venue throughout the county to showcase Broward’s unique arts and culture spaces.
