Bob Lind & Timothy LaRoque: Live at the Sample-McDougald House (11/13, Pompano Beach)

Totally inimitable and unique, Bob Lind writes, sings and plays guitar like no one else -– and he’s been doing it for more than 60 years.

It began in 1966, when the 23-year-old singing poet helped launch and define folk rock, writing and recording the groundbreaking mega-hit “Elusive Butterfly.” Since then, his songs have been recorded by more than 200 artists including Aretha Franklin, Cher, The Four Tops and Dolly Parton. Today, he’s writing and singing better than ever. Bob’s newest album, IT OUGHTA BE EASY (2026), released by Ace Records has been lauded by music critics and publications like Goldmine Magazine & Shindig!

Jack Nitzsche captured Bob Lind’s songwriting mojo in one righteous line from his liner notes for “Don’t Be Concerned”, Lind’s debut album: “There isn’t one lie in the contents of his poetry”. Nearly 60 years later, Lind shows that honesty continues to stir his lyric-writing muse. Indeed, the unflinching candor and articulate narrators of his story-songs have grown even sharper with time. Timothy LaRoque is a singer-songwriter based in South Florida. He has been featured in Rolling Stone en Español, Miami New Times, Sun-Sentinel, with his original music featured on NPR, Sirius XM’s Underground Garage, and local PBS station WLRN-FM. He recently released his debut LP “The Florida Effect” (via Def Cat Records).
