Sample McDougald House
Welcome Back:
Sample-McDougald House is open to the public from Tuesday-Saturday from noon to 4PM, and has added an outdoor exhibit area for social distanced viewing. John Knox Village residents receive complimentary admission with valid ID. Standard admission is $10 per person, $5 for children 5-12; children under 5 are free. For more information, click here.
About Sample McDougald House:
In many parts of the country a one-hundred-year-old house would attract little attention, but in South Florida, a century takes us back to the beginning of our communities’ modern history. Unfortunately, we’ve lost too many of the pioneer structures as our agricultural lands have disappeared, to be replaced by an ever-expanding urban landscape. One hundred years after its construction, the preserved Sample-McDougald House is an important part of Pompano Beach’s social, cultural and civic life. It connects current residents and visitors with our region’s fascinating heritage.

Tours begin at the top of every hour. Last tour starts at 3:00pm.

Admission Specials
All residents of John Knox Village of Pompano Beach, Florida receive complimentary admission with valid resident ID. The National Federation of Business and Professional Women’s Clubs – South Florida – Member receive 25% off museum membership levels.

Parking
Parking is available within our gates on the south side of the museum. During larger events parking is available in the parking lot on the corner of NE 5th Ave & NE 10th Street.

For any persons with disabilities, we have a zero-entry ramp and lift to the first floor of the house. We have designated accessible parking spaces and restrooms. Although the second floor of the house is only accessible via stairs, we display photographs in the foyer of the upstairs. Staff and volunteers will do their best to accommodate any individuals with special needs or disabilities.
