Textile Madness: Down the Creative Hole with Danielle aka DJ
Join us down the creative rabbit hole! Enjoy tea and cakes with Danielle aka DJ while creating a textile project to take home.
Get creative with fabric, thread, and color in this fun mixed-media textile art class. You’ll design your own unique bug or flower-inspired artwork using fabric, embroidery techniques, and acrylic markers on canvas. Choose from a variety of bug and flower stencils for inspiration, or create your own designs freehand.
You’ll learn basic embroidery stitches to secure fabric pieces to the canvas, along with techniques such as creating and stuffing fabric pockets for added texture and dimension. Once the main design is complete, acrylic markers add details, patterns, and finishing touches. If time allows, the back of the canvas is finished with varnish to help protect the stitching.
