This September the Broward Center for the Performing Arts presents 60 Years of Dois na Bossa, one of the most recognized albums in Brazilian music history. The one-night-only concert takes place Saturday, September 13 at 8 p.m. in the Amaturo Theater as part of the TD Bank Jazz Series.
Released in 1965, Dois na Bossa was a groundbreaking live album by Elis Regina and Jair Rodrigues that captured the energy of Brazilian popular music and helped bring Bossa Nova to a wider audience. Its influence continues to shape Brazilian music today.

Now Rodrigues’ children Jair Oliveira and Luciana Mello return to the stage to celebrate that legacy. Joined by a Brazilian jazz trio and guest musicians, they will reimagine classics such as Arrastão, Eu Sei Que Vou Te Amar and Menino das Laranjas.
“It is an absolute joy and honor to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Dois na Bossa,” said Oliveira. “Our performance at the Broward Center will pay homage to Elis Regina, Jair Rodrigues and Jongo Trio, to Bossa Nova, to Brazilian culture and heritage, and to the living legacy that continues to inspire musicians in Brazil and around the world.”
For South Florida, home to one of the largest Brazilian communities in the United States, the concert offers an evening of music that celebrates heritage and highlights the global reach of Brazilian culture.
Tickets are available at BrowardCenter.org.
