Meet The 2025 Artist Support Regional Grantees
The Broward Cultural Division’s Artist Support Grant provides direct funding to individual artists across all disciplines, empowering them to create and present new projects that engage the public and enrich Broward’s cultural landscape.
Below, we celebrate the 2025 grantees and highlight the events and projects they’re bringing to our community with this support.
Laura Atria
Laura Atria is an artist and public art professional who currently serves as Public Art and Artist in Residence Program Manager for the City of Pompano Beach. She is a four-time recipient of the Broward Cultural Division Artists Support Grant.
Life Lately is a series of oil paintings encouraging viewers to look at the world with new eyes by connecting art with people’s seemingly ordinary engagements and bringing an artistic perspective to the everyday landscapes of Broward County.
Bella
Bella is a classically trained percussionist who currently works as a music teacher at an afterschool program and as the drummer for the band, Trust Nobody. She also performs both live EDM and DJ sets throughout South Florida.
Meet Me At The Show is an immersive three-part experience showcasing the vastness of the EDM genre while paying homage to various Black creatives who have contributed to its creation and success.
Cassandra Belony
Cassandra Belony is a Fort Lauderdale-based actress, filmmaker and teacher who has been recognized for her comedic and dramatic storytelling. Her most recent film, We Good Project, has been featured at film festivals in the U.S. and Canada.
Rozayy So Unfiltered is a mockumentary-style web series that follows Fort Lauderdale rapper, Rozayy, AKA Rose Mesadieuon, on an exciting, arduous journey to rap superstardom.
Alyssa Book
Alyssa Book is a contemporary textile artist known for vibrant, tactile rug art that blends bold lines and bright colors to evoke childlike wonder.
Shattered Expectations is a textile art piece exploring the intersection of personal healing and societal expectations that focuses on liberation from traditional domestic roles imposed on women. As a tool for empowerment, it aims to foster dialogue on mental health, women’s histories, and the power of creative expression.
Florencia Clement de Grandprey
Florencia Clement de Grandprey is a self-taught, mixed media figurative artist who blends classical fine art with contemporary design. Her large-scale portraits painted on ornate rugs and fabrics transform up-cycled textiles into uniquely textured artworks.
Threads of Love is a mixed media art exhibit inspired by the evocative poetry of Rumi. Featuring intricate compositions crafted from repurposed textiles, rugs, and layered materials, it explores bonds that connect people, emotions, and experiences, while also celebrating the journey toward self-acceptance.
Liv Cook
Liv Cook is a portrait artist who originally trained as a makeup artist and esthetician. Shifting her focus to portraiture, she blends makeup techniques with painting to explore identity, vulnerability, and self-expression.
Look What I Made celebrates childhood aspirations and the capacity to pursue them. The exhibition features portraits created in collaboration with fellow South Florida artists. Each collaborator is invited to design a background for their portrait, merging their current artistic style with the unfiltered creativity that characterizes youth.
Alana DaCosta
Alana DaCosta, founder of KR8TiVE Uprising, is an artist and community builder who facilitates healing and self-discovery experiences, workshops, and community events. Her work centers on empowering marginalized communities and promoting holistic well-being through the arts.
SECRET ASYLUM: an intimate showing is an exploration of intimacy, mental health, and the healing power of the arts. It uses the transformative power of music, spoken word, dance and visual arts to create a safe space for expression, healing, and creative community building.
Timothy Mark Davis
Timothy Mark Davis is a film and theatre producer, actor and director who has produced multiple short and micro-budget feature films. He also serves as the Producing Artistic Director of New City Players, a Broward-based theatre company staging classic contemporary work.
The Multi-Hyphenate Filmmaker Workshop is a four-hour workshop for aspiring and emerging filmmakers seeking a framework to successfully bring their films to life, and fill key roles such as director, producer, actor, and screenwriter.
Cary Daly
Cary Daly is a multidisciplinary artist and art educator whose work spans painting, fiber arts, and sculpture, often exploring themes of femininity and motherhood through a Gen X lens.
Please Touch is a solo exhibition combining experimental interactive arts, inclusive community engagement and sensory-focused works, made from fabric and traditionally feminine media, that explores themes of middle-aged femininity.
Rosemary Fineberg
Rosemary Fineberg is an artist who works in paint and mixed media. She studied art therapy and art education and has worked as a public-school art teacher as well as an art therapist.
Even Darkness has Light – The merging of the two, Part II, focuses on finding light in the darkness.
Alexandru Gherman
Alexandru Gherman is a Romanian-born, award-winning film and theater director.
A small concession is a short film dealing with themes of immigration, the Miami art world, and human relationships.
JaNia Harden
JaNia Harden is a singer, composer, music educator and children’s book author.
Present… in Place, space and time is an artistic journey that encompasses American classic jazz standards performed along with musical arrangements using instrumentation from various parts of the world. Instruments like the sitar (Asia) and kora (Africa) will be joined with percussion, the harp and choreographed dance.
Jeremiah Jenner
Jeremiah Jenner is a photographer and instructor who is the recipient of several artist support grants from Broward Cultural Division for his photography workshops and exhibitions.
Visions of Sound is a photography exhibition capturing the unifying force of music across multiple cultures through vibrant images of musicians, dancers and late-night crowds.
Kevin Johnson
Kevin Johnson has been involved in the South Florida arts scene since 2000 and is the creator of Conundrum Stages, which provides performers a platform to showcase their talents for communities at large.
Support Your Local Playwrights is an evening of short plays written by resident playwrights in the Southeast Florida region.
Emily Kennedy
Emily Kennedy is a South Florida instrumentalist and composer who strongly believes in music’s power for healing.
Jazz Around the World is a concert/lecture series featuring jazz compositions from Latin America, the Caribbean, Africa, Europe, and the United States, along with narratives about the composers and the stories behind the songs.
Kohl King
Kohl King is an interdisciplinary artist, independent curator and a professor, whose artwork examines states of being in the context of time’s impermanence. She draws guidance from the ancient Indian sutra, Tat Tvam Asi, in which everything that is seen or experienced in the world is an extension of the observer.
on tetherhooks creatively examines the grieving process and the complicated prism of grief. The artworks in the exhibition also aim to explore the constantly changing perspectives that often emerge when coping with loss.
Justin Miranda
Justin Miranda is a professional jazz guitarist with over a decade of experience.
Jazz at the Gallery brings accessible jazz concerts to local galleries. Concerts are curated to complement the gallery’s current exhibition, creating a unique blend of music and visual art.
Lucas Morelli
Neon Prayers, AKA Lucas Morelli, is a visual and electronic music artist whose work stems from exploration into self-identity, duality, and the human experience.
Synesthesia :: E.D.E.N. is an experimental theater presentation showcasing music, narrative storytelling, light shows and sculptural installations. This show aims to bridge the experience between musical performance and visual input.
Galal Ramadan
Galal Ramadan is award-winning, self-taught, master colored pencil artist and art instructor.
Beyond Boundaries is a solo exhibition of original artwork created with colored pencil.
Claudette Goico Sernius
Claudette Goico Sernius translates data into art to educate and bring people together, a process informed by her training in architecture and figure painting.

Zack Spechler
An artist, curator, fabricator and lawyer, Zack Spechler focuses on critical examinations of social value systems, fostering dialogue that challenges preconceptions and encourages nuanced understanding of societal norms.
Constructing the Future is a series of workshops focusing on mold-making and transforming architectural elements into flat and three-dimensional artworks.
tiny.blips
Combining bespoke beats and layered visuals, South Florida producer/digital creator tiny.blips uses original instrumentation and vocals to create psychedelic grooves in styles ranging from lofi, hip-hop, funk, jazz, and nu-disco.
Juicy Curveballs: Beat Tape is a concept album based on tiny.blips’ field recordings and collected snippets of everyday life. Videos complementing the tracks bring a deeper understanding to the music. A series of community engagement events accompany the project.
Totem Cave
Totem Cave is an instrumental quintet that explores the depths of improvisation while navigating different musical styles with a distinctive sound that weaves world rhythms with elements of jazz, fusion, and funk.
Totem Cave Live! features a creative fusion of jazz, funk, rock, Latin rhythms, and more, delivered through original compositions and arrangements, and enhanced with improvised solos.
Ornella Verano
Ornella Verano is a self-taught artist and the founder of The Art Lab Co., dedicated to fostering artistic growth and community engagement in South Florida.
Transforming Passion into Business is a workshop designed to empower individual artists by providing hands-on training in resin prints and marketing strategies.
