Konpa has united generations of Haitians and people around the world, fostering cultural pride, artistic expression, education, and community engagement while serving as a powerful ambassador of Haiti’s rich cultural heritage;
The international recognition of Konpa Dance: In 2005, Michel Francois Jacques & Fong Trelford presented “The Konpa Dancing pedagogy to the World Dance Sport Organizations. This Presentation further acknowledged the artistic, educational, and cultural value of Konpa dance throughout Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, and the international communities.
November 14th, 2026 will proclaim the “World KONPA Dance Day”
