Karin Batchelder

Born and raised in Fort Lauderdale, Karin has spent over 30 years creating art that reflects the vibrant spirit of her coastal upbringing. A passionate observer of nature and nautical life, she channels her surroundings into a diverse range of mixed media works. Her tropical abstract landscapes and evocative photography celebrate the raw beauty of the natural world, capturing its rhythm, color, and emotion.
While studying art at Mercer University, Karin discovered a deep connection to abstract expressionism. “Just the simple use of color and design can evoke your imagination,” she says—a philosophy that continues to guide her creative process. Through photography, she embraces the immediacy of the moment, preserving fleeting impressions with a spontaneous yet thoughtful eye.
Karin’s work invites viewers to experience nature not just as scenery, but as a feeling—transformed through texture, tone, and the intuitive dance of composition. Enjoy!
