The distinguished Spanish pianist Joaquin Achúcarro joins the Symphony of the Americas, Dr. James Brooks-Bruzzese for a performance of the Symphonic Variations for Piano and Orchestra by Cesar Franck. The irresistible, surefire breeziness of this composition has insured the Variations Symphoniques first place in popularity among Franck's works. A pre-concert lecture, strolling lobby entertainment before and at intermission, and a pre-concert wine tasting make this final concert of the season an event not to be missed.
