The beautiful gypsy who loves only those who don't love her, Carmen is one of the most beloved operas of all-time. With its exotic Spanish setting, it introduces a note of realism into opera that was very controversial. Objection was taken to the wild and immoral behavior of Carmen, the chorus of cigarette smoking factory-girls, and the final murder of Carmen on the stage. This unforgettable story will surely leave you wanting more.
